Today I applied for a job and interviewed for it on the spot. I think I did pretty well in the interview and the interviewer said she would highly recommend me for the position. It’s not a major job… just an admin assistant position for the business office of a radiology company. But they pay is $2.00/hr more than I make now and I will be working full-time, year-round. This is so important because right now I am off for about 2 months out of the year unpaid and it affects our family greatly. I should find out if I get the job by Friday. Tomorrow the fun part happens. I get to go to work and tell my boss that I applied for a job elsewhere. I feel so guilty about this. I don’t want to leave my friends at the school. I get along so well with almost everyone there. I also hate the thought of leaving the school in the middle of the year. I feel a sense of responsibility there and as though I am letting the school down by wanting to find another job. But, ultimately, we need more steady income and getting a job somewhere else will be the only way to do that.
I still feel like crap about it, though.

I would hold off telling your boss that you have applied for another position. Wait until you have a job offer and then give two weeks notice. By telling your boss now could mean you might be terminated and walked out of work. If you already told your boss I hope he/she will be understanding. I’ll be praying for you and your new position. Blessings
Don’t worry Tiffany, your family is #1 and your employer knows this. If this is better for your family, do it. They will understand!
